I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Although there is a big network of women with thriving businesses, I rarely hear about them through the traditional news media in my local area.  Don't forget San Francisco and Silicon Valley.  As you know, some of the best ideas i.e. Google, Apple and Facebook are located here.  There are also some very well known women owned businesses that are headquartered in the heart of Silicon Valley such as Tiny Prints.
